A demo and workshop on scuba diving for fishermen community

As part of the ICAR-CMFRI Artificial Reef Awareness Programme, scientists interacted with the fishermen community on the benefits of artificial reefs for fish stock enhancement, marine biodiversity, and sustainable fisheries.
Mr. B. Balaram Naidu, Founder of Livein Adventures, conducted a scuba diving equipment demonstration and an awareness session on the importance of scuba diving in artificial reef monitoring, marine conservation, underwater research, water sports, and sports tourism. The session also highlighted alternative livelihood opportunities for fishermen through scuba diving, boating, lifeguarding, and adventure tourism, supporting the growth of the blue economy.
