We track our food to see if we are getting in our daily nutrient requirements. To understand if we are meeting our needs, or working towards our goals. Are we eating too much of something or are we not eating enough of something?

Tracking food isn't for everybody. Not everyone wants to get out the food weighing scales everytime they have a meal or get their phone out to log their macros 5 times a day.
