One of the biggest problems in modern yoga is comparison. Social media often makes people believe that yoga is about handstands, deep backbends, and advanced poses. As a result, many students compare their bodies and abilities to others and feel that they are not “good enough” at yoga.
The reality is that yoga was never meant to be a competition. The ancient teachings of yoga focus on self-awareness, inner peace, and personal growth not on who can touch their toes or perform the most difficult posture. Every body is different, and every practitioner has a unique journey.
True yoga begins when we stop comparing ourselves to others and start listening to our own bodies. The goal is not to become better than someone else; the goal is to become more connected with yourself. When comparison ends, yoga becomes a practice of acceptance, freedom, and self-discovery. 🙏✨
