π± Why do devotees carry Ganga Jal on their shoulders every Sawan? π©
The Kanwar Yatra is not just a pilgrimageβit's one of the world's largest expressions of faith and devotion to Lord Shiva.
According to Sanatan Dharma, after Lord Shiva consumed the deadly Halahala poison during the Samudra Manthan, devotees began offering sacred Ganga Jal to the Shivling to cool Neelkanth Mahadev. This timeless tradition continues today as millions of Kanwariyas walk barefoot, chanting "Bol Bam" and "Har Har Mahadev", carrying holy water from sacred places like Haridwar, Gangotri, Sultanganj, Varanasi (Kashi), and other pilgrimage sites.
The Kanwar Yatra is a journey of faith, discipline, sacrifice, and complete surrender to Mahadev. Every step taken is an act of devotion, and every drop of Ganga Jal offered is a prayer from the heart. π
π§ Just as devotion strengthens the soul, Janmkatha Yoga helps strengthen your body and mind.
