Sangramsinh Gaekwad Sports Academy The Sangramsinh Gaekwad Sports Academy (SGSA) is Baroda's newest sporting infrastructure located in the heart of the city within the LVP compound.

Inaugurated in 2015 by Prince Sangramsinh Gaekwad, the academy aims to encourage sport as a career choice among the youth in Baroda. Located in the heart of Baroda within the compounds of the beautiful Laxmi Vilas Palace, the academy grounds are scenic and centrally accessible. The academy officially launched its cricket coaching program under the watchful guidance of Ex Captain of the Baroda Ranj

i team and coach for over 25 years, Mr. Narayanrao Satham. Our aim is to provide the best infrastructure coupled with quality coaching to create all round cricketers. The infrastructure already boasts of an international size cricket ground with 5 carefully crafted main wickets. Also onsite are 9 practise wickets of varying surfaces. The academy is Prince Sangramsinhs way of giving back to Baroda and to the great game of Cricket.

In an exhilarating friendly match between Toronto Lumberjacks CC (Canada) and SGSA, the Lumberjacks batted first and set a competitive total of 212 runs in their allotted 40 overs. SGSA faced early setbacks in their chase, struggling at 75/6 in 17.2 overs.

However, a remarkable rescue effort led by Jay Patel, who scored an unbeaten 80 off 85 balls, including 11 fours and 1 six, and Vishvesh Oza, who contributed a quickfire 48 off 32 balls with 7 boundaries, turned the game around. The duo built a crucial 50+ partnership, stabilizing the innings.

SGSA eventually clinched victory by 2 wickets, reaching 216/8 in just 35 overs, with five overs to spare, marking a thrilling comeback performance.
