Isn’t it strange? We are so quick to give our kids antibiotics, yet we hesitate when it comes to giving them essential vitamins. 🌱

Just the other day, one of my neighbour shared with me that his three-year-old son was frequently falling ill and had very weak immunity. During our conversation, I suggested he start giving his child vitamins and reduce the amount of junk food and chocolate his son was consuming daily.

The moment I mentioned vitamins, he immediately asked, ā€œAre there any side effects? Is it safe for my child?ā€ This is the same parent who doesn’t think twice about giving his child antibiotics every time he falls sick. Why is it that when it comes to antibiotics, the question of side effects never seems to come up?

It’s important to understand that while antibiotics can be life-saving in certain situations, their overuse can lead to serious side effects. Antibiotics don’t just target harmful bacteria; they also kill the beneficial bacteria in our gut, which play a crucial role in digestion, immunity, and even mood regulation. Over time, this can lead to antibiotic resistance, making it harder to treat infections. In children, frequent antibiotic use can cause digestive issues, weakened immune systems, allergic reactions, and even impact their long-term health.

On the other hand, providing essential vitamins and nutrients offers countless benefits with minimal risks. Vitamins like A, C, D, and E, along with minerals like zinc and iron, are vital for a child’s growth and development. They support a strong immune system, promote healthy bone growth, and enhance brain function, all while improving energy levels and mood. Unlike antibiotics, vitamins nourish the body from within, helping to build a natural defence against illnesses rather than just treating symptoms after they occur.

We need to shift our mindset and prioritize giving our children what truly benefits them – the vitamins and nutrients their bodies need to thrive. šŸ’š Instead of reaching for antibiotics at the first sign of illness, let’s consider how we can strengthen their natural defences by ensuring they receive the right nutrition.

🌿 A Thoughtful Reminder About Our Health 🌿

It’s quite fascinating, yet somewhat disconcerting, how we’ve come to rely on various diet plans to maintain our health. This necessity stems from a significant deviation from the natural eating habits our ancestors followed. Somewhere along the way, misguided dietary guidelines led us astray, creating a ripple effect that has impacted our genetics and overall well-being for generations.

In the past, our diets were simple and directly sourced from nature. People thrived on whole foods that were unprocessed and nutrient-dense. Unfortunately, as time progressed, industrialization and commercialization of food introduced processed and synthetic options that promised convenience but compromised our health. These changes have left us grappling with various health issues, prompting the need for specialized diet plans to correct the course.

Let’s take a step back and reconnect with the pure, nourishing foods that nature provides. Instead of relying on processed products laden with artificial ingredients, let’s choose the wholesome, natural foods that our bodies were designed to thrive on.

šŸŽ Choose wisely. Embrace the simplicity and richness of nature’s bounty. Stop punishing your body with artificial substances and instead, nurture it with the pure, unadulterated foods that nature intended for us.

By making conscious choices about what we consume, we can begin to reverse the negative impacts on our health and genetics. Let’s honour our bodies and our heritage by eating mindfully and holistically. It’s not just about feeding our bodies, but also about nourishing our souls and preserving our well-being for future generations.

🌿 Nurture your body with nature’s gifts. 🌿

A recent study published in ā€œNational Library of Medicine ā€œ concluded the following:

ā€œExercise is an effective treatment for depression, with walking or jogging, yoga, and strength training more effective than other exercises, particularly when intense. Yoga and strength training were well tolerated compared with other treatments. Exercise appeared equally effective for people with and without comorbidities and with different baseline levels of depression. To mitigate expectancy effects, future studies could aim to blind participants and staff. These forms of exercise could be considered alongside psychotherapy and antidepressants as core treatments for depression.ā€

Both the recent research and our ancestors agree on how important exercise is for our mental health Sadly still we don’t have time for it. (Check your screen time if you believe the same is for you)

It’s time we understand the importance of movement in any kind. Depression and su***de in young adults is rising in our country.
