എവറസ്റ്റ് കൊടുമുടി കീഴടക്കുന്ന മൂന്നാമത്തെ മലയാളി വനിതയെന്ന നേട്ടം സ്വന്തമാക്കിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് മഞ്ചേരി സ്വദേശിനിയായ സുഹ്റ ചെറുകപ്പള്ളി. 43 ദിവസം നീണ്ടതായിരുന്നു സുഹ്റയുടെ ദൗത്യം. 2026 മെയ് 20ന് അവർ എവറസ്റ്റിൻ്റെ നെറുകയിൽ തൊട്ടു.

നാല്പതുകാരിയായ സുഹ്‌റ പത്ത് വർഷത്തോളമായി പർവ്വതാരോഹണ രംഗത്തുണ്ട്. എലൈറ്റ് എക്സ്പെഡിഷൻ ഏജൻസിക്കൊപ്പമായിരുന്നു പർവതാരോഹണം. 14 അംഗ സംഘത്തിൽ മുഴുവൻ പേരും ഏവറസ്റ്റ് കീഴടക്കി. ഒരേ വർഷം ഒരേ തീയതിയിൽ ഏറ്റവുമധികം പേർ എവറസ്റ്റ് കീഴടക്കിയെന്ന അപൂർവ്വതയും 2026 മെയ് 20നുണ്ട്. സുഹ്‌റ ഉൾപ്പെടെ 274 പേരാണ് ഈ ദിവസം എവറസ്റ്റ് സമ്മിറ്റ് ചെയ്തത്.

ഉയരം കീഴടക്കിയ ശേഷം ദേശീയപതാകയോടൊപ്പം കേരള കായിക വകുപ്പിൻ്റെ ലോഗോ ഉയർത്തിയും സുഹ്‌റ സന്തോഷം പങ്കുവച്ചു.

Zuhra Cherukappalli, a native of Mancheri, has become the third Malayali woman to climb Mount Everest. Zuhra's work lasted for 43 days. On May 20, 2026, they reached the summit of Everest.

Forty-year-old Zuhra has been mountain climbing for nearly ten years. The climb was with Elite Expedition Agency. The entire 14-member team conquered Everest. 20 May 2026 also holds the rarity of having the highest number of people climb Everest on the same date in the same year. Zuhra reveals 274 people summited Everest on this day.

After conquering the height, zuhra shared her happiness by hoisting the logo of the Kerala Sports Department along with the national flag.
