✨ Merag Lama Lodroe Gyatso Independence Cup 2025 – Grand Finale ✨
The Tawang District Football Association (TDFA) in collaboration with the District Administration, Tawang, and the Tawang Brigade successfully organized the month-long Merag Lama Lodroe Gyatso Independence Cup 2025.
The thrilling finale witnessed a clash between AMSU FC and Monyul FC, with Monyul FC lifting the prestigious Cup 🏆🎉. Women's final match was played between Rebels FC and AAPLU FC where AAPLU FC lifted the Girls tournament Cup.
Meanwhile, the Organizing Chairman of the Independence Cup, Shri Koncho Tashi, was honored with an Appreciation Certificate by the Monpa community’s apex body, Monpa Mimang Tsokpa (MMT), in recognition of his remarkable achievements in the field of football — from the district level to the national level — as Manager of the Indian National Futsal Team and Assistant Coach. And MMT also honoured Miss Sonam Zomba from Jang for winning the Strawweight Championship at Matrix Fight Night (MFN) 17.
The Committee also paid tribute to Late Shri Lama Gyepo for his valuable contributions in the field of education and sports.
The mega final match was graced by Shri Namgey Tsering, Hon’ble MLA Tawang, as the Chief Guest. His presence, along with other dignitaries, made the grand finale even more memorable and colorful.
