We are a bunch of five friends and all are Chartered Accountants (CA) by Profession. We consider ourselves fitness enthusiasts, hence the name “Fitness Enthu”.
Oh, we are not young and certainly not very athletic but we treat ourselves as such.
Hardik and Ravi were the first ones to be bitten by the fitness bug and Rajiv, Gulab and Rajiv soon followed. (You read it right, 2 Rajivs in a group of 5)
Though each one of us has their own choices of fitness regime such as going to the Gym, Cycling, Yoga, etc., running is something common amongst us.
Together we have run about 9000 km in 2 years. (We know the numbers are not that impressive but we tried, alright? … DON’T JUDGE US😊)
As a group, we are proud of it considering that we are recreational runners and not serious ones. (We certainly are NOT proud of our average pace though! Won’t share the stats in case someone is wondering)
Having led a Sedentary lifestyle for more than a decade, we are more than aware of its ill effects, also we have the first-hand experience of how difficult it is to get out of it and more importantly remain out of it. (We know who still want to go back there …. Rajiv & of course other Rajiv..hmmm)
This Covid-19 Pandemic and its effects have led to a situation where it is very tempting and easy to lose the grounds that we covered as a group. So, we try to inspire, cajole, motivate, and push each other to continue fitness routine in some way or the other.
We realized the influence of being in the company/group had on us because left alone probably each one us would have done fewer physical excursions than we actually did. (We know who would have done much more than he actually did…. Gulab – others had to cool him down)
Over a customary breakfast after a Sunday run (We know who runs on Sundays only for these breakfasts..., Ravi - you owe the group lot of contribution money), this idea evolved to assist others in some ways to begin their fitness journey.
Another thought which occurred was, that probably other runners are also missing the races as we do. (We know who misses those races the most …. Hardik is a certified Raceoholic)
One thing led to the other, and it took the shape of this beautiful event “Run for Professionals and Family”
We, ourselves being CAs, are aware of the kind of challenges our fellow professionals face to have a regular fitness routine.
This is a small effort to be instrumental in inculcating healthy habits amongst professionals in general.
To this end, we have organized Virtual Run for Professionals viz CA /CS / CMA / Advocates / Doctors / Engineers / Architects, etc. and their Family members on 5th & 6th September 2020.
If you are a runner and missing races as we do, this event is for you - go for 10 or 21.1 K.
If you are sitting on the fence and thinking of starting soon, go for 3 or 5 K
Take your family and friends along and indulge in beautiful sports called running.
