Cluster University of Srinagar Flags Off Volleyball Team for North Zone Inter-University Tournament

Srinagar, Dec-07-2025:
Cluster University of Srinagar flagged off its Volleyball team for participation in the North Zone Inter-University Volleyball Tournament to be held at Haryana organised by Central University Haryana, which will see the participation of 84 teams from various states and union territories across the country.

The flag-off ceremony was presided over by Professor (Dr.) G. M. Lone, Sports Secretary, Cluster University of Srinagar. He was accompanied by Assistant Professor (Dr.) Sheikh Burhan-ul-Haque, Coordinator, Sports Committee, alongside other concerned officers of the University and the University volleyball team.

Addressing the players, Professor G. M. Lone encouraged the team to display discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship at the national platform. He expressed confidence that the University contingent would perform with excellence and bring laurels to the institution.

Assistant Professor Burhan-ul-Haque extended his best wishes to the team for the tournament and assured students of all support during the course of the tournament.

The Volleyball team of Cluster University of Srinagar will compete against the top volleyball teams of various Universities across the country in the prestigious national level event.

S.P. College srinagar participated in the ongoing First UT Level Athletic Meet 2025 organised by Govt. College of Physical Education Gadoora Ganderbal wef 24th to 28th of November 2025.
Uzair and Dawood made it to the final Round of 100 m and Long Jump but were unable to figure among the top three.

CUS vs KU tomorrow at AMU !

Cluster university Srinagar registered a convincing victory over Faridabad university in the ongoing North zone inter university tournament, organised by Ali garh Muslim University, held at Aligarh ( athletic ground) on 27/11/2025.
Cluster university Srinagar defeated Faridabad university in an impressive performance, showcasing strong team work and Disciplined cricket. CUS after winning the toss decided to bowl first. CUS bowler's set the tone early by restricted FU scoring opportunities. The bowlers dominated from the start, applying pressure through tight lines and picking up wickets at regular intervals.Fu struggled to build partnerships and were restricted to a modest total of 82 runs in the alloted 20 overs. Brilliant bowling figures of ubaid beigh ,who conceded 20 runs and took 4 important wickets.
Chasing the target, CUS showed confidence and composure, there top order provided a steady start and ensured the chase remained on track. A notable innings from umair zahoor ( 51 runs) and Yahya 25 runs helped CUS finish the match in only seven overs. Obaid beigh for his outstanding bowling performance declared man of the match. With this win CUS move up the next round of the tournament.

All India Inter University Men's Cricket Contingent was officially flagged off by the Dean Commerce/ Sports Secretary Cluster University of Srinagar Prof. G.M. Lone, to participate in the ongoing Inter University Men's Cricket Championship 2025-26 being organised by Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh wef 22nd of November to 2nd December 2025.
The contingent consists of 16 Players with 05 from S.P. College.
Dr. Arshid Salam (APTI) S.P. College is accompainying the contingent.

Prof. (Dr.) G. M. Lone Sir appointed as the new Sports Secretary of Cluster University of Srinagar.

All India Inter University Volleyball Trials (Men & Women) concluded successfully at S.P. College yesterday.
The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of the Sports Secretary CUS Prof. G.M. Lone Sir and Worthy Principal S. P. College Prof. (Dr.) Bashir Ahmad Sheikh sir.
In his very first speech the Sports secretary assured to take the university’s sporting culture to even greater heights. Sir mentioned that we plan to introduce more training opportunities, upgrade facilities, encourage broader participation, and ensure that every student—whether player or supporter—feels connected to the sports fraternity of our university.
