On 8th March 2026, as the world commemorates International Women’s Day, the International Human Rights Organization – Jammu & Kashmir Chapter (IHRO) proudly marks this global occasion on the historic land of Kashmir, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, gender equality, human dignity, and social justice.
On this significant day, IHRO Jammu & Kashmir Chapter will honour 100 exceptional women from across the Kashmir Division with Hosla Afzai (Encouragement) Awards, recognizing their outstanding contributions in diverse fields. Among these distinguished honourees, will also be felicitated by IHRO—an honour that is Faiqa Gulzar matter of immense pride for our organization.
✨ Spotlight on Faiqa Gulzar ✨
Faiqa Gulzar is a resilient athlete, counselor, and motivational speaker who has transformed personal adversity into a journey of empowerment and inspiration. A spinal cord injury survivor since 2019, she has emerged as a powerful symbol of strength, determination, and inclusive excellence.
Faiqa is a National Wheelchair Basketball Player and a Wheelchair Cricketer, representing the spirit of adaptive sports at the highest levels. Her versatility and physical strength are further highlighted by her achievement as a Gold Medalist in Arm Wrestling, showcasing her competitive excellence across disciplines.
Beyond sports, Faiqa is a dedicated Counselor and Motivational Speaker, actively supporting and uplifting persons with disabilities through guidance, empathy, and lived experience. Her work focuses on building confidence, resilience, and self-belief among individuals facing physical challenges.
Academically, she has completed her 12th standard and successfully pursued the Aalima Course from Boarding School Jamiat-us-Sualihaat, Marhama, reflecting a strong foundation in both formal and ethical education.
Her skill set includes tailoring and counseling persons with disabilities, enabling her to promote self-reliance, skill development, and emotional well-being within the community.
Through sports, counseling, and public speaking, Faiqa Gulzar continues to inspire change, advocate inclusivity, and motivate countless individuals to rise above limitations and lead empowered lives.
She firmly believes that success is built on commitment, hard work, and unwavering dedication.
