Speeding Vehicle Mows Down Schoolgirl in

Srinagar, July 29, : A 12-year-old schoolgirl was critically injured after being hit by a speeding Tata Mobile vehicle in the Zewan area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as , was reportedly on her way home from school when the incident occurred. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was moving at high speed and struck the minor without warning, leaving her severely injured on the road.

She was immediately rushed to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, where doctors described her condition as critical.

The incident has sparked outrage among local residents, who blamed reckless driving and lack of traffic enforcement for the tragedy. “Speeding vehicles have become a daily threat in this area. Authorities must act before more lives are put at risk,” a local resident said.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and an investigation is underway.
