*DG YSS FELICITATES RAJESH DHAR FOR PRESTIGIOUS ASSIGNMENT*

JAMMU, May 26: In a proud moment for J&K, Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Anuradha Gupta, felicitated Physical Education Lecturer Rajesh Dhar in her office chamber following his selection as Manager of the Indian Men’s Cricket Team for the upcoming Afghanistan tour in June 2026. The series features a one-off Test at Mullanpur from June 6 to 10, and three ODIs in Dharamshala, Lucknow, and Chennai.
DG YSS stated that the Directorate shall encourage such talented employees in the future as well.
Sharing his gratitude, Rajesh Dhar said, "I am deeply honored to be appointed Administrative Manager for Team India and humbled to receive felicitation from Director General of his parent department. I am profoundly grateful for her support and I look forward to serving the national team with dedication and pride in the responsibility entrusted to me by the BCCI." Dhar stated.

Promoting sportsmanship and inspiring youth towards a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free future, the *Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Shopian* today witnessed the successful inauguration of multiple sports events across the district.
*Today on 20-05-2026,* *the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Shopian* organized various sports activities and tournaments under the banner of *100 days camping Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.*
*District Youth Services and Sports Officer* ( *DYSSO* ), *Shopian* , *Mr. Mohd Ayoub Bhat* inaugurated the Inter-School District Level *U/19 Boys Volleyball* Tournament at *YSS Play Field S shiraml* . Players from various Higher Secondary Schools of District Shopian participated enthusiastically in the tournament. During the inauguration, the DYSSO stressed upon the importance of sports participation and encouraged students to actively engage in games to stay physically fit and away from drug abuse.
The DYSSO Shopian also inaugurated the *Inter-School Zonal Level U/14 & U/17 Girls Kho-Kho Tournament* at *Al-Kowsar Institution* , *Zone Vehil* encouraging students to participate actively in sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Under the 100 days camping Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, *Zone Shopian organized Kabaddi* and Pledge Programme at *GBHPS Arhama Shopian* , where player's participated enthusiastically to spread awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Similarly, *Zone Keegam organized Kabaddi* and Awareness Rally at HS Sindoo Shirmal and UPS Daramdora under the banner of 100 days camping Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. Students participated actively in the programmes aimed at promoting awareness and promoting a drug-free society.
Furthermore, Zone Imamsahib organized an Inter-School Zonal Level U/14 & U/17 Girls Chess Competition, in which students from different schools participated with great enthusiasm.
All the events were conducted successfully, highlighting the importance of sports in building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and steering youth away from social evils like drug abuse.

The Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Shopian successfully organized various sports and awareness activities across different zones under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (100 Days Campaign).

🏀 District Level Inter-School Basketball Tournament (U/17 & U/19 Girls) commenced at YSS Play Field Sindo Shirmal with enthusiastic participation from students.

🏐🧘‍♀️ Zones Keegam, Shopian, and Imamsahib conducted Volleyball, Yoga, Kho-Kho, Badminton, and Chess activities, promoting sportsmanship, physical fitness, and awareness against drug abuse among youth.

The department remains committed to encouraging a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free society through sports.

Today, the staff members of the Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSSO), Shopian, along with members of various ZPEO offices, warmly welcomed *Mr. Mohd Ayoub Bhat Sahib* on assuming charge as DYSSO Shopian.
On this occasion, He emphasized the importance of ensuring that sports and youth activities are conducted regularly across all zones and institutions. He stressed that every assignment received from higher authorities should be completed with sincerity, dedication, and honesty, without any negligence.
He also laid special focus on the ongoing *100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan* Campaign, directing all officials to maximize youth participation through sports and awareness activities to keep youngsters away from drug abuse. He highlighted the need for collective efforts in promoting discipline, fitness, and a drug-free society.
The entire DYSSO Shopian family extends a warm welcome to Sir and wishes him a successful tenure in District Shopian. We look forward to working together under his guidance for the betterment of youth and sports activities in the district.
