Alhamdulillah, the Final of the South Kashmir Volleyball Tournament Edition 4th concluded successfully in which Spartan Kashmir lifted the trophy of the 4th Edition in a thrilling showdown, beating Al Maidah Cafe by 3-2. Perhaps, this is for the first time in the Volleyball history of J&K that 5 sets were played with such huge crowd and electrifying atmosphere. The Spartan Kashmir with their robust defense and counter attacks didn't let the pressure consume them proved their dominance. Zahid Ahmad won the man of the match title while Rasik Pilot won the Man of the Series award for their briallant performances.
SDPO Zainapora Shri Sunil Kumar, SHO Zainapora Imtiyaz Ali, DO Wachi Jehangir Ahmad and former MLC Showkat Hussain Ganie were the chief guests on the occasion who not only encouraged the players but also lauded their efforts for their splendid performances. Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Zainapora Shri Sunil Kumar said that the apart from studies, youth should pursue their career in sports as well. He lauded the organisers of the tournament for providing platform to the youth to showcase their talent and keep them away from drugs. He said that it the endeavour of Shopian Police also to make the society drug free and conducting such tournaments is one such step to achieve the same. Former MLC Showkat Hussain Ganie also congratulated and lauded the players for entertaining the crowd while keeping the spirit of the game alive.
