Himachal ice Skating Association under the affiliation of Ice Skating Association of India is proud to organise this introduction to ice skating on roller blades camp from 26th oct - 1st Nov 2020 at the Army camp Palchan. The idea of the camp is to train and create awareness in as many athletes interested in Ice Skating, where you will learn to balance, manoeuvre and stopping on inline skates, which will make your transition to ice skating easier.
Participants enrolling in this camp shall be selected for Ice Skating Nationals in near future based on their Performance.
Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Participation will be rewarded to athletes to enhance their Profile for future events.

We have received far many entries then we hoped we will get. And as this is an inaugural initiative, we only have limited pairs of skates and so will choose students based on the availability of shoe sizes. If anyone owns inline skate or normal skates, you are welcome to join the camp. There will be camps held in future as well if anyone misses out the opportunity now.

All the enthusiasts are to report at the Palchan bridge(army bridge) at 9am tomorrow. We all will move from there to the Army Camp. The enlistment will be done at the camp. We will be running the camp in 3 or 4 batches of 1-2hrs for a week. Everyone will have to report each day based on there batch timings.

What we will provide-
1. Inline Skates
2. Protective gear
3. Snacks, tea/coffee, electrolytes
4. Medical assistance
5. Guide
6. Certificate

Things to bring -
1. Skates (if you own one)
2. Protective gears - helmet, knee guard, elbow guard, gloves
3. Aadhar card / photo id

*Please note the transport to and from the camp will have to be arranged by the participants.

On 8th October, 2020, the Himachal Ice Skating Association held a conference at Solang Valley, Manali, regarding the promotion of ice skating, overall integrated development of winter sports and preparation of new athletes up to international Standards, in Himachal Pradesh. The conference was attended by Mr. R.K. Gupta, President of Ice Skating Association of India, Mr. Amitabh Sharma, Secretary General of Ice Skating Association India, Mr. Shiva Keshavan, a six time Olympian and an Arjuna awardee and local representatives of winter sports. Valuable ideas were shared and great enthusiasm was shown by everyone who took part in the meeting.
