Veteran footballers raise concern about material used

JAMMU, June 5: A major mishap was averted after one of the high-mast light poles installed at recently inaugurated Synthetic turf at Mini Stadium, Parade Jammu collapsed in High-velocity winds.
The high-mast light pole collapsed in a recent windstorm, but fortunately no one was hurt in the incident. However, veteran footballers have raised concerns about the quality of material used in the stadium.
Former Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association’s Selection Committee Ashok Sharma expressed his deep concern over the incident. He said that even though the incident did not result in any injuries, it is still a serious incident.
He continued, expressing disappointment about the lack of attention given to the repeated concerns raised regarding the subpar quality of the work and facilities for the players. It seemed as though their voices were falling on deaf ears.
Another veteran football player voiced his worries about the incident, requesting anonymity. “This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. The previous incident involved a smaller light pole. It’s clear that poor quality materials are being used in the stadium, leading to these dangerous situations. We are deeply concerned for our children who get training here regularly.”
Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Xen -Atul Gupta said, “high-mast light pole collapsed due to windstorm and probably within a week it will be reinstalled.”
On March 13, State-of-the-Art Synthetic Football Turf at Parade Ground, Jammu was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.

**GREATER KAILASH SPORTS CLUB SUPPORTS KULDEEP GUPTA’S CALL FOR MEDICAL HELP CENTERS**

**JAMMU, June 6, 2024:** The members of Greater Kailash Sports Club, in a meeting held tomorrow, have expressed their support for the decision made by the President of the Vansh Savre Sports Foundation and the General Secretary of the J&K Kabaddi Association, Sh. Kuldeep Gupta. They urge the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of UTJ&K, who is also the President of the J&K Sports Council, to favor the request for the establishment of a fully equipped Medical Help Center at both M.A. Stadium in Jammu and Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.

This immediate treatment facility will not only provide first aid at the doorstep but also significantly enhance the performance of the athletes. Kirtin Singh, a national cyclist of the club, expressed the urgent need for such a Medical Help Center following a tragic incident during the UTJ&K Championship held at M.A. Stadium, Jammu last year. He stated, "Having immediate medical assistance on-site could be the difference between a minor injury and a major setback for an athlete."

The members also emphasized the importance of conducting medical check-ups for all players prior to their participation in national championships to ensure better performance and safety. This proactive approach would not only help in identifying any underlying health issues but also prepare the athletes for the rigors of competition.

Sh. Kuldeep Gupta highlighted that the proposed Medical Help Centers would be staffed with trained medical professionals and equipped with essential medical supplies and equipment. "This initiative aims to create a safer and more supportive environment for our athletes, ensuring they have access to the necessary medical care during their training and competitions," he said.

In addition, the Greater Kailash Sports Club members believe that these Medical Help Centers will encourage more young athletes to join sports programs, knowing that their health and well-being are prioritized. This, in turn, could lead to a greater pool of talent and improved performance at state and national levels.

The club members concluded the meeting by urging the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor and the J&K Sports Council to expedite the approval and establishment of the Medical Help Centers, recognizing the long-term benefits it would bring to the sporting community in Jammu and Kashmir.

YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE!

My village Birpur is the place where Maharaja Pratap Singh fell for a woman, a livestock rancher while he was on a hunting trip. The King later married his lady love, who came to be known as Maharani Charaki. Known for innovative ideals advocated for animal rearing which was a common practice in the village to obtain animal by products such as milk etc. and it became as source of survival too.
Once I accompanied with my father to nearby forest hillock for grazing cows and experienced a life changing incident. Once animals were done with the grazing, I called to assemble them, shouting AAo, AAo, Aoo………………….!

To my utter surprise, my voice echoed and I could hear mountains responding in same voice, with same words of AAo AAo……….!

Not sure, who was responding I yelled, "who are you?"
To my utter dismay, the question boomeranged on me, "who are you?" it asked.
Astonished at the response, I shouted "come forward."
The voice at the other end echoed, "come forward."
Looking at my father astonishingly, who was observing my actions being an experienced retired teacher, he said lovingly, my son pay attention and he shouted, 'I admire you.'

The voice resonated back answers, 'I admire you.'

He went full throttle again , "you are a champion."

The voice retorted, 'You are a champion!'

I was surprised but unable to understand.
Then my father who got his education from Lahore University before partition, explains! People call this ECHO, but really, this is LIFE. It gives us back everything we SAY or Do. Our life is simply a REFLECTION of our ACTIONS. Life will give you back everything you have given to it.

Our life is not coincidence. It's reflection of we!
"If we like to know who's responsible for the majority of our sufferings/troubles, make a look at internal soul. If we could kick the person responsible for most of our problems, we couldn't be able to stay with our own soul," father said.

There is little that can withstand a man who can conquer himself.

"Our business in life not to get ahead of others, but to get ahead of ourselves to brake our own records, to outstrip our yesterday with today to do our work with more focus then ever before" father added.

Our best friends and our worst enemies are the thoughts we have about ourself. As a man think within himself, so he is. Stop looking only at where you are and start looking at what you can be. Be careful where your mind wonders; your words and actions follow it. No one can defeat you unless you first defeat yourself. Self images sets the boundaries and limitations for each of our individual accomplishments.

We are sure to loose when we quarrel with ourselves, it is civil war.

'Don't commit treason against your own life and purpose.' We carry with us the world in which we live know this'. When we have a great dream ,our mind will be our great foe/enemy. HUGE the obstacles in life! as stumbling lighten our personality. Momentary benefits are really short living gateways, Truth exists always.'

Our future depends on many things, but mostly on us. "what we picture in our mind ,our mind will go to work to accomplish. "When we change our picture, we automatically change our performance. Whenever we attach the words 'I am,' we will become: Motivational speaker (father) further added.

These words from my father enlightened my soul , that always put me in comfortable zone even after getting much troubles.

The Author dedicated this expository text to his father who lived a life marked by trials and obstacles, thus today we have opportunities to continue in his footsteps to have been instrumental in journey and success.
