The Rajkumar College The Rajkumar College is a residential public school in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. It is well connected to all major cities in India by road and rail.

The Rajkumar College, Rajkot was established in 1868 by the Princes and Chiefs of Kathiawar [currently Saurashtra region of Gujarat]. It is the oldest of the colleges in India founded for the education of the Princely order. The College is a founder member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) established in 1939 on the lines of the British Public School Education system. The Rajkumar Col

lege (widely known simply as RKC) is a co-educational boarding and day school catering for children between the ages of five to eighteen. We are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education [CBSE], New Delhi – Affiliation No. 430005 since 1st May, 1973 and have applied for extension of Provisional Affiliation. The College is recognised by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat and NOC has been obtained from the Office of the District Education Officer vide their letter dtd. 17th March, 2008. One of the buildings on the campus houses ‘Priyalok Vilas’ – a professionally run pre-school, established in 2001, providing quality activity-based education for children from three years of age. Rajkot, capital of the former Saurashtra State, is an important industrial city in the Saurashtrian peninsula of Gujarat. There are daily flights to Mumbai.

The Education Expo 2026 was held on 12th April 2026 at Mahavir Bhavan Hall and was presented by
Sanz Samachar. Students of Form 10 and Form 12 from the Boarding section visited the expo.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Sandeep Deshmukh, Mr. Sudhanshu Swar, Ms. Geeta
Sharma, Mr. Braj kishore Mishra, and Mr. Bharat Barad.
They explored various universities from across India and gathered information about courses,
admissions, and career options. The visit was informative and helped students gain clarity about
their future choices.
Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience for the students.

"A Legacy Illuminated"
156th Annual Prize Giving | The Rajkumar College, Rajkot | 25th April 2026, 6:15 p.m.

At dusk on 25th April, RKC’s quadrangle hosted _“An Evening of Honour, Pride and Tradition.”
HH Thakor Saheb of Rajkot, President, Board of Trustees, delivered the welcome address and conferred prizes. Principal Mr. Yash Saxena presented the Annual Report 2025-26, celebrating academic excellence, national laurels, and sustainability initiatives. Scholars, artists, and athletes received their awards as torchbearers of a 156-year legacy.
Vice Principal Ms Keyuri Gohil proposed the Vote of Thanks.
The ceremony reaffirmed: "at RKC, tradition builds pride, and honour is lived daily."

Yoga Competition Report – Junior Day School
The Junior Day School organized a Yoga Competition for Forms 4, 5 and 6 on 10
January 2026. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, concentration and mindfulness among the students.
The young participants confidently performed a variety of yoga asanas, demonstrating excellent balance, flexibility and discipline. Their graceful performances impressed the judges as well as the audience.
The competition highlighted the importance of adopting healthy habits and developing inner strength
from an early age.

An Elocution Competition for Classes 4, 5, and 6 was organized in the Bhavsinhji Hall and Library from 18th to 19th November 2025. The competition aimed to nurture students’ confidence, pronunciation, articulation, and public speaking abilities.
Students enthusiastically recited poems and prose pieces, displaying excellent voice modulation, clarity, and expressive delivery. Each participant presented their piece with
confidence and great enthusiasm, making the event lively and engaging.
The teachers trained and guided the students carefully in pronunciation, delivery, and stage
presentation. The judges evaluated the participants on the basis of intonation, clarity, confidence, and overall performance.
The event was well planned and witnessed enthusiastic participation from many students. It proved to be a great success and served as an excellent platform for young learners to demonstrate their speaking and recitation skills.

Solo Dance Competition – Junior Day School

The Junior Day School organized a Solo Dance Competition for Classes 4, 5, and 6 on 16th February 2026. The event gave students a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent and confidence on stage.

With colourful costumes and bright smiles, the participants delivered graceful and energetic performances that captivated the audience. Their expressions, rhythm, and stage presence reflected sincere effort and regular practice.

The competition was judged by Ms. Shobhna Shekhavat, Ms. Parul Barad, and Ms. Vaishali Thangjam, who appreciated the enthusiasm and dedication of every participant.
