Why a Unified Indian Football is a necessity and not a luxury .
Indian Football stands at crossroads , with two top division leagues and no clear roadmap for the future . With an uncertain domestic future ahead , here is why a unified league , involving all existing top division stake holders , is the best possible solution to the mess India's domestic structure finds itself in .

1)More number of Matches . An I League or ISL club plays 20 to 22 matches in a season on an average , including the ir respective league and the Super Cup . Compare this with those of top leagues in Asia and Europe . They play 40 to 45 matches on an average . More matches means more oppertunity for players to gell together , which in turn helps to deliver better continental performances as the team members develop good understanding between themselves . Lesser matches might be one of the reasons why our clubs arent doing well in the AFC Cup . Also , the team which becomes Champions will have to be consistent through out the year , which should help in continental competetions .
2)More Job oppertunities for players - Currently , if we consider all I League and ISL Clubs , we have a player pool of around 250 to 350 , which is extremely low considering the magnitude of our population . A unified league with a vibrant 2nd division , would provide more Indian players to showcase their potential and come up through the ranks .
3)Oppertunity for coaches -More Indian Coaches will get to rub shoulders with experienced foreign coaches , which will be of great value , since they are ones who have to work and connect with players at the elementary level .
4)Referees - The referees will be assured of getting jobs all through thebyear , which might translate into better officiating of matches as lack of job insecuirity might improve the quality of the men with the whistle .

There is a worry about the financial aspect of the league . All top leagues around the world acheive financial gains through the selling of television rights . We need to involve that aspect in the league . This is a tried and tested method and if it works elsewhere , there is mo reason why it shouldnt work in India .
With so many benefits , hope this universally accepted structure is implemented in India . Hoping for a great time ahead .

Football in India is bleeding . Two ISL- Indian Super League clubs and numerous I-League to call quits/relocate. We stand by our brothers at FC Pune City Orange Army and those at Delhi Dynamos and all those potentially at risk.
‪The efforts of these supporters to change the mentality of support for football, is as much as the efforts of any other stakeholders in the footballing ecosystem is, to increase popularity in a country where football is still dwarfed by cricket.‬
‪So many supporters of big & small clubs (both leagues), pan-India, have set up groups in the last few years to change supporter culture. If none of them get paid to be competent why will they be the victims of the incompetency of others who are paid to take football forward ?‬
‪Every disgruntled supporter puts Indian football at risk, like every club that shuts down or every academy that fails to survive. You take away football, you take away identities, you take away connections and bonds. ‬
‪Risk disgruntling the people and the half empty stands of today may be emptier tomorrow. It’s the people that make this game beautiful. Football without fans is nothing- Indianfootballteam should be knowing this. ‬
‪Not so long ago, football in this country was without fans in the stadium. No one cared, no one emptied their pockets. Today people do. We are in favour of progress not regress. ‬

As per reports,AIFF has communicated with Omid Singh on playing for India,but the player has to give up his Iranian passport.
Certainly he won't be playing Intracontinental cup,.
If he is willing to give up passport ,the process will take almost 1 year.
Pls don't believe every news,Not everything that you see on social media and WhatsApp is correct. Cheers

Chennai City Football Club's association with Swiss club FC Basel 1893 might bring Roger Federer to Chennai after the legend retires from tennis. Basel is Federer's hometown club and the maestro is often seen at Basel's home matches whenever he is in Switzerland.
"We might plan to bring him to Chennai and present him at the city's stadium once he retires. He knows about the city's tennis culture and that it once used to host the Chennai Open. He is probably not aware that it now has a thriving football culture as well. So if he agrees, we can bring him here," FC Basel's head of youth academy Massimo Ceccaroni told The Times of India on Sunday.
