At the end of yoga, almost everyone rubs their palms together and places them softly over their eyes...
but very few people know the deeper reason behind this simple ritual ✨

When we rub our palms, friction creates warmth and activates energy in the hands.
Covering the eyes with that gentle warmth helps relax the eye muscles, soothe the optic nerves, and calm the nervous system after practice. 🤍

But in yoga, it’s more than just physical relaxation.

After moving the body, balancing the breath, and quieting the mind, we don’t immediately rush back into the outside world.
We pause.
We soften.
We allow ourselves to absorb the practice.

That darkness behind the palms creates a moment of stillness... a moment to reconnect with yourself before opening your eyes again to the world around you. 🌙

In today’s life, our eyes are constantly overstimulated - screens, stress, overthinking, rushing.
