AIIMS RAIPUR INAUGURATES REFURBISHED CRICKET GROUND, EV ROLLER; LAUNCHES APSL-14
The AIIMS Raipur Sports Club today organized the grand inauguration of its newly refurbished state-of-the-art cricket ground along with a newly procured EV roller at the residential complex. The occasion also marked the formal launch of the AIIMS Pro Soft League–14 (APSL-14), witnessing enthusiastic participation from staff and faculty.
The ceremony was graced by Lt. Gen. Dr. Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Raipur, as Chief Guest, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Debendra Kumar Tripathy, Officiating Medical Superintendent and HoD, Trauma & Emergency.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Virat Galhotra, Chairperson, AIIMS Raipur Sports Club, followed by the ceremonial inauguration of the cricket ground, EV roller, and APSL-14 by the Chief Guest through traditional rituals.
On the occasion, Shri Ranjan Behera, Member Secretary of the Sports Club, was felicitated by the Executive Director in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of sports activities at AIIMS Raipur.
Addressing the gathering, Lt. Gen. Jindal emphasized the importance of physical fitness and mental well-being among healthcare professionals, noting that sports foster teamwork, discipline, and efficiency. He reiterated the institute’s continued support towards strengthening sports infrastructure and encouraging active participation.
Prof. (Dr.) Debendra Kumar Tripathy highlighted that APSL-14 serves as a valuable platform for promoting team spirit, coordination, and stress management among employees, contributing to a healthier work environment.
Prof. (Dr.) Virat Galhotra outlined the objectives and structure of APSL-14, reaffirming the Sports Club’s ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and sportsmanship within the institution.
The upgraded cricket ground, equipped with modern sporting infrastructure, reflects the institute’s commitment to promoting fitness, well-being, and a vibrant sports culture among healthcare professionals. The addition of the EV roller is expected to further enhance ground maintenance and playing quality.
The event witnessed active participation from office bearers, club members, and a large number of faculty and staff. The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing the importance of fitness, teamwork, and holistic well-being within the healthcare community.
