Why Krav Maga?
Very often, we hear people say “I do not believe in violence” or “I don’t want to become a fighter”.
The truth is that those who are accepted into a Krav Maga Global class are not there to be taught to be street thugs and bullies. We do a strict screening to ascertain why a person wants to learn Krav Maga, and if we get even the slightest of indications that he might misuse the knowledge, we do not accept him.
A typical class consists of Doctors, working professionals, students and business persons…both men and women.
Regular people who felt a need to learn how to defend themselves either because of some incident involving themselves or someone they know.
We are not here to teach people to become street thugs, we are here to teach people to defend themselves and their loved ones from street thugs.
Nor do we encourage students to get into or start a fight over minor issues like road rage or minor quarrels. Rather, we encourage them to de-escalate the situation and walk away. Engaging and counter attacking is only the very last option.
We do not believe in overt violence, but nor do we believe we must be mute spectators or victims when an unjust attack is carried out.
Self Defense is a right, and defending the weak is a duty.
I don't even call it violence when it's in self defense; I call it intelligence - Malcolm X
