Kalashree Nrityalaya Kalashree Nrityala- a performing arts institute, training students in Bharatnatyam since 1992, under the able guidance of Guru Smt Pramadwara Kittur Smt.

Pramadwara Kittur hails from a family of artists and has been brought up amidst the environment of classical music and dance. This passion was nurtured in school and later channelized by rigorous training in Bharatnatyam under the strict and able guidance of renowned Guru Smt. Maniktai Ambike. Kittur has completed her Diploma and Post Diploma in Bharatnatyam from SNDT University and Nrityangan Ins

titute for dance. She also holds a Masters degree in Bharatnatyam from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth. She has won accolades for her choreographic skills for many such items such as Todaya Mangalam, Keertanams, Padams and Varnams. Ballets
like Sita Swayamwar, Dashavatar, Raga-Rasa-Rang, Rutu Samhar and Navanayika have been received very well. She is also undergoing training in Caratic music from well-known Guru Smt. Rajeshwari Srinivasan. Smt Kittur's music sense is vividly seen in her exquisite choreography. Guru Kittur has been conferred with Advocate Sadashivrao Deve Award by Nritya Saadhana Kala Academy, Nashik for her contribution to the field of classical dance and was also felicitated as a Woman Icon by Jayawantrao Sawant Institute of Management and Research. Kittur is instrumental in building Kalashree Nrityalaya since 1993, from a handful of students to a full fledged institute by her tradition bound, disciplined and devoted teaching. All students undergo rigourous training and appear for Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya examinations. Kalashree has been instrumental in promoting classical dance in and around Pune. Till date, 51 students have completed their Arangetram under her able guidance. Our students have been invited to perform at prestigious events like:

- IIDF( India International Dance Festival) Pune
- Pu La Deshpande Yuvaotsav, Prabhadevi
- Sanskruti Arts Festival, Thane

- Armed Forces Medical College Durga Pooja Celebrations, Pune
- Spiritual-Cultural exchange, Nathdwara

What a lovely event this was! A beautiful and heartfelt presentation of Kathak by Amartya Chatterjee and her students. Thank you for having us!

A truly brilliant idea to include Bharatanatyam in a Kathak event — giving the audience a glimpse into not just one, but two rich classical dance forms. A wonderful step toward the larger goal: the promotion of dance and our cultural heritage.

A heartfelt thank you for inviting our Guru, Pramadwara Kittur, as the chief guest and for giving her the honour of performing. It was a proud and cherished moment for all of us.
