With Geeta, fitness is more than a way of life, it’s a religion.
Geeta was born into a fitness family, being the daughter of Madhukar Talwalkar, a stalwart of fitness in India. With fitness in her DNA, she has been involved in Fitness training in India for many decades, which includes the launching of Talwalkars Fitness Academy in Mumbai.
She also lived in the USA for over 15 years, where she grew fascinated by Joseph Pilates & the Pilates Method. As a trained and highly experienced fitness professional, she was extremely impressed by the way that Pilates could transform the body and also the healing results it demonstrated.
Being in the US, she was blessed to have had the opportunity to receive training directly under 2nd generation classical Pilates Master Trainers in New York and in Princeton, NJ. After her training, Geeta launched her own Pilates Studio in Princeton called ‘Simply Pilates’, fully equipped with the original Gratz Pilates Apparatus - which used Joseph Pilates’s original designs.
Today, Geeta is among the very few 3rd generation classical Pilates instructors in India, with a hands-on and global teaching experience & expertise of over 8 years, dedicated to preserving the integrity of the original Pilates method as taught by Mr. Joseph Pilates. Her studio, also called ‘Simply Pilates’ located in Aundh, Pune is one of the very few studios that teaches Classical Pilates in India and continues to use the original Gratz Apparatus to proudly carry on the Pilates tradition in India.
