: How do you get people to actually take Ownership?

In my previous post we saw about Commitment, Responsibility & Accountabilityโฆ..
Once these three are imbibed one would expect the people/ team to have ownership. Alas this aspect is easier said than done.
Getting people & teams to take ownership is the most difficult yet most rewarding in terms of results.
How do you get people to actually take Ownership?
You can assign responsibility and accountability, but very difficult to assign ownership or rather you canโt assign ownership. People need to take ownership, because you canโt do it by design or force it.
Ownership is something that we choose to take. Leaders focus is on creating that environment. An environment that is an aggregate of commitment, responsibility, accountability and the overall atmosphere that then make the people take ownership for the outcomes, wherein they choose to give their best.
It's about creating an environment of Trust, bonhomie, an emotional connect with and within the teams and the organisation. Its about creating that bond that says โDonโt worry I am there to helpโ, seeking help & giving help.
