The untimely tragic passing of 26-year-old CA Anna has sparked an outpouring of anger on social media.
Key questions arise in the wake of this incident:
- Who is responsible?
- Is blaming the company justified?
- Was the reaction of the company
leadership appropriate?
- Why do companies behave the way they
do?
In light of this, i am making a few suggestions, possibly impractical
For lawmakers
- Implement fitness returns for companies, similar to income tax returns, linked to tax slabs.
- Ask companies to seek consent letters from employees for additional work hours beyond the stipulated ones in the appointment letter, clearly stating the additional pay.
For working professionals:
- Emphasize personal accountability.
- Reflect on what actions can and should be taken immediately.
