Jagmeet Singh, a player from Sham Lal Hockey Club, Poonch, became the first player from Jammu & Kashmir to participate in the 8th All India Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hockey Tournament, held in Rajasthan.
Jagmeet Singh is a highly talented national-level hockey player and is regarded as one of the finest hockey players from Poonch. His performance throughout the tournament was outstanding:
• First Match: Scored 2 goals against Roundglass academy Mukstar
• Second Match: Scored 1 goal against Sonari ganganagar
• Third Match: Scored 1 goal against Haryana Sonari Paltan
• Final Match: Scored 2 goals against Noar Club Rajasthan
Jagmeet Singh is also the only player from Jammu & Kashmir to represent Khalsa Hockey Club, Rajasthan . For his exceptional performance, he was awarded the best midfielder of the Tournament.

The Sham Lal Hockey Club, Poonch, is commended for the selection and participation of its players in the prestigious 69th National School Games (Hockey), scheduled to take place in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh from 02-01-2026 to 07-01-2026. The girls from Poonch will represent the Jammu & Kashmir team under the auspices of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, showcasing the outstanding results of the club management's tireless efforts.
