Man, by nature, is a traveler, who fared far and wide seeking food, habitation and spurred by the urge to explore. For centuries, the lure of travel has been an intoxication to people, who have been fascinated with the vistas just beyond the horizon. This group has been created to bring together people genuinely interested in these aspects and to provide a platform to share knowledge and experien

ces. We'll be organizing a plethora of adventure activities both on/near and off campus. From offering professional courses in mountaineering, skiing, diving etc. to organizing treks and bike expeditions, we plan to cover it all. Ahoy! Come, Join Aboard !!

ABOUT DEORITAL CHANDRASHILA

This trek lies in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand with Tungnath temple being one of the PanchKedartemples (five temples of the Shaivite sect dedicated to Lord Shiva). Trek to Chandrashila Peak startsfrom small village named Chopta and Sari Village serves as the base camp for Deoriatal Lake. The trek offers walks through excellent Bugyals (meadows) and gorgeous views of grandeur snow clad peak views of Mt Chaukhamba, Mt Dronagiri, Mt Nandadevi, Mt Nandaghuti, Gorur Parbat, Mt Trishul from Chandrashila peak.

DAY 1: 420 KMS (14 HOURS) DRIVE FROM DELHI TO CHOPTA AND CAMP THERE
DAY 2: 8.2 KMS TREK FROM CHOPTA – TUNGNATH TEMPLE – CHANDRASHILA PEAK –
BACK TO CHOPTA. CAMP OVERNIGHT
DAY 3: 20 KMS DRIVE FROM CHOPTA TO SARI AND 6 KMS TREK FROM SARI VILLAGE
TO DEORIATAL AND BACK TO SARI. DRIVE BACK TO CHOPTA, CAMP OVERNIGHT
DAY 4: 420 KMS DRIVE TO DELHI

ABOUT BHRIGU LAKE:
Bhrigu Lake (altitude: 4300 metres) near Manali is a holy lake and natural wonder in itself. It resembles a huge crater and circular in shape. Locals believe that Bhrigu Rishi used to meditate beside the lake and visits the lake once every year. On a clear day, one can see Friendship, Ladakhi, Hanuman Tibba peaks from various points on the trek. Lake lies to the east of Rohtang Pass, which is at height 3978 metres. Bhrigu top at height 4300 metres beside the lake also provides a view of Hampta valley.

BRIEF ITINERARY
DAY 0(17th October): Leave from Pilani at 4:00 p.m with 22-hour bus journey till Manali
DAY 1(18th October): Manali To Gulaba By Road & 3 Kms Moderate Trek From Gulaba To Thatch
DAY 2(19th October): 5 Kms Trek From Thatch To Rola Kholi
DAY 3(20th October): 7 Kms Trek To Bhrigu Lake And Back To Rola Kholi
DAY 4(21st October): 8 Kms Trek To Gulaba & 20 Kms Drive To Manali
DAY 5(22nd October): Reach Pilani Before 8 a.m

*Please note that this itinerary is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
