Group Priority State Sub Junior Basketball Championship 2026 - Don Bosco, St. Brittos and Siolim Basketeers register Wins
Panjim August 22: Don Bosco H.S., Panjim defeated Our Lady of Grace H.S., Bicholim (C) 26-11 in the Group Priority State Sub Junior Basketball Championship 2026, being held at Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim. Don Bosco dominated from the opening quarter, leading 10-0, before taking the second quarter 4-2. OLGHS fought back in the third quarter, winning it 5-4, but Don Bosco sealed the match with an 8-4 final quarter. Arjun Barbosa top-scored for Don Bosco with 12 points, followed by Joshua D Cunha with 6, while Rasool Shaikh scored 8 for OLGHS (C). The championship is organised by Aliens Basketeers in association with the Goa Basketball Association and brings together young U-14 basketball talent from across Goa.
In the other matches, St. Brittos, Mapusa defeated OLGHS, Bicholim (B) 9-2, with quarter scores of 2-0, 2-0, 2-2 and 3-2. Kurt Antao led St. Brittos with 4 points, while Nidhish Falkar scored 2 for OLGHS (B). Siolim Basketeers defeated OLGHS, Bicholim (A) 25-12, with quarter scores of 6-2, 7-6, 10-0 and 2-4. Cristiano Mascarenhas was the leading scorer for Siolim with 12 points, supported by Aditya Hadfadkar with 4, while Altamash Mirza and Jayden Fernandes scored 6 and 4 points respectively for OLGHS (A).
