Guardian Angel storm into the final

Holders Guardian Angel Sports Club scored a hard fought 4-3 tiebreaker win over a resilient Ambelim Sports Club to move into the final of 18th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2026 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the Villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.

Ambelim Sports Club surged ahead through their prolific striker Semson Fernandes in the 24th minute of play. Lanky defender Alton Vaz scored the equaliser for Guardian Angel Sports Club in the 29th minute of play. The match ended with both the teams tied 1-1.

In the resultant tiebreaker, Guardian Angel Sports Club were successful through Valentino Hilario, Daniel D'Costa and Valentino Carvalho while only Rayan Pinto and Leister Fernandes were successful for Ambelim Sports Club.

Sheldon Fernandes and Ivo Costa of Guardian Angel Sports Club while Hayden Pinto and Blasco Fernandes were cautioned for Reckless Tackles by the Match Referee Rosario Fernandes.

Oswin Rodrigues of Guardian Angel Sports Club for his splendid performance in goal was awarded the Man of the Match by Mr. Elvis Mendes, ex President and Life Member of Goa Velha Sports Club based in the United Kingdom sponsored by Joshua and Philbert Lopes.

United Club of Verna in last four

United Club of Verna scored a narrow 9-8 tiebreaker win over hosts Goa Velha Sports Club after being locked 2-2 at the end of regulation time to complete the semifinal list of 18th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2026 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the Villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.

Aglon Abranches put United Club of Verna ahead in the 5th minute of play when he beat the off side trap and placed the ball past Pratik Kankonkar in the Goa Velha goal. Prasil Kankonkar scored the equaliser for Goa Velha Sports Club in the 18th minute of play when his well directed header dipped into the goal. Both the teams were locked 1-1 at the break. Roydon Rego made it 2-1 in favour of United Club of Verna when he shot home after a solo run from the half line in the 44th minute of play. Francis Afonso equalised for Goa Velha Sports Club through a spot kick in the 51st minute of play which was awarded after Sohan Kavlekar was brought down in the box by the Verna defenders. At the end of regulation time, the score read 2-2.

In the ensuing tiebreaker, United Club of Verna were successful through Arfan Sayed, Joasle Fernandes, Hilton Fernandes, Roydon Rego, Nevil Menezes, Eli Rego, Mecklito D'Costa, Clifton Rebello and Eusebio Fernandes. Desmon Pereira saw his attempt saved by Goa Velha keeper Pratik Kankonkar.

Goa Velha Sports Club were successful only through Prasil Kankonkar, Francis Afonso, Krishab Madkaikar. Nikesh Mangueshkar, Vikranth Mangueshkar, Sohan Kavlekar, Ashok Megheri and Uday Diukar. Sainath Kankonkar and Alme Fernandes feeble attenpts were saved by the Verna keeper.

St. Savio Sports Club, Calangute scored a solitary goal win over Navelim Villagers Union to move into the semifinal of 18th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2026 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the Villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.

The only goal of the match was scored by Mervin D'Souza of St. Savio Sports Club in the 21st minute of play. Navelim Villagers Union went all out in search of the equaliser but their strikers were found wanting in front of the Calangute goal. Rovan Pereira missed a glorious opportunity to equalise at the fag end of the match when he headed tamely in front of the goal with only the Calangute keeper to beat.

Rovan Pereira of Navelim Villagers Union was cautioned while Mervin D'Souza of St. Savio Sports Club, Calangute was expelled by the Match Referee Jan Rodrigues.

Goa Velha Sports Club overcome St. Anthony's Sports Club, Marna

Goa Velha Sports Club scored an emphatic 4-2 win over St. Anthony's Sports Club in the GFA First Division League Round 4 Match played at St. Cruz ground.

Goa Velha Sports Club surged ahead early in the first half through lanky striker Francis Afonso who shot past the Siolim keeper into the Siolim nets. Yash Simepuruskar equalised for St. Anthony's Sports Club at the fag end of the first half. The score read 1-1 at the lemon break.

Goa Velha Sports Club made three changes at Half Time replacing Uday Diukar, Kaushal Sharma and Francis Afonso with Sohan Kavlekar, Atish Sawant and Alreach Peixoto. Goa Velha Sports Club doubled the lead through Sohan Kavlekar whose effort landed into the St. Anthony's goal via a wicked deflection from the rival defender to make it 2-1. Alex Fernandes made it 3-1 in favour of Goa Velha Sports Club while Sowell Fernandes rounded up the scoreline through a solo effort to make it 4-1. Diptesh Khandeparkar of Goa Velha Sports Club was expelled by the match referee for a second bookable offence. Seasoned Alesh Sawant reduced the margin for St. Anthony's Sports Club to make it 2-4 when he converted a spot kick which was controversially awarded by the match referee.

Ambelim Sports Club scrap through into the semifinal

Ambelim Sports Club scored a hard fought 5-2 tiebreaker win over Betalbatim Sporting Club to move into the semifinal of 18th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2026 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the Villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.
Oliver D'Souza put Betalbatim Sporting Club ahead in the 31st minute of play off a well taken free kick giving no chance to the Ambelim keeper Benny Silva. Ambelim Sports Club regrouped immediately and got the equaliser through Asfin Pinto who tapped home off a Semson Fernandes headed flick in the 34th minute of play.

In the ensuing tiebreaker, Ambelim Sports Club were successful through Velroy Fernandes, Aaron Pinto, Leister Fernandes and Rayan Pinto.

Betalbatim Sporting Club were successful only through Oliver D'Souza. Ashley Fernandes and Joel D'Silva missed the target.

Guardian Angel sail into the semifinal

Holders Guardian Angel Sports Club scored an easy 6-1 win over Chandor Club to move into the semifinal of 18th London Trophy Inter Village Football Tournament 2026 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the Villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.

Seldon Fernandes put Guardian Angel Sports Club ahead in the very 6th minute of play when his attempt was fumbled by the Chandor goalkeeper who let in the ball through his hands into the goal to make it 1-0. Seldom Fernandes scored his brace and his team's second goal when he tapped into the empty Chamdor goal after an initial attempt from Adriano Gomes was parried into play by Rio Rebello in the Chandor goal in the 9th minute of play. Chandor were reduced to 10 man in the 20th minute of play when Moises D'Sa was sent off by the Match Official. The match was held up for sometime as Moises D'Sa of Chandor Club physically assaulted the Match Referee after he was shown a Red Card in the 20th minute of play. The Player was forced out off the pitch by the Local Organisers. Guardian Angel Sports Club led 2-0 at half time.

Guardian Angel Sports Club scored their third goal through Alton Vaz in the 38th minute of play to make it 3-0. Granville Fernandes made it 4-0 in favour of Guardian Angel Sports Club in the 40th minute of play. Seldon Fernandes completed his hattrick scoring his team's fifth goal in the 52nd minute of play. Substitute Regan Costa completed the rout scoring the sixth goal in favour of Guardian Angel Sports Club to make it 6-0. Hayden Fijardo scored the consolation goal for Chandor to make it 1-6 in the 56th minute of play.

Granville Fernandes of Guardian Angel Sports Club was cautioned for Reckless Tackle while Moises D'Sa of Chandor Club was expelled from the match for Dissent by Words after initially being booked for a Reckless Tackle by the Match Referee Yeshwant Parab.
