One year down, and a lot more to go.
It all started a little over a year & a half back, when the founding members sat in a car, frustrated with the downfall of their team and lack of competitiveness, and decided to start a team of their own. With some of their childhood and school friends, they got on a mission to create a squad, one that would be commited, have love for the sport and a desire to give in 110% everytime they stepped on court.
With these few friends coming together and new faces joining in, the new team was formed, and initially called the YMCA Knights 'B' as, a second team to our seniors the YMCA Knights, one of the top teams in Goa.
Excited and raring to go, we started off the campaign. But it was no fairytale. We lost the second game of the first tournament that we played.
Heads dropped, thoughts began to run through our minds, wondering if we made the right choice. But then the captain stepped in, slapped us with positivity, told us to work hard and things would fall into place.
It took some work, some fine tuning, sharpening around the edges and higher commitment.
The First step was changing our name to have our own identity and to be unique.
We pondered over names and one stood out.
TITANS! Powerful, God-like and influential in their field. Ours being basketball.
We kicked started our campaign as YMCA Titans, in the B division league on the 10th of June 2018, and went on to win that tournament 7 games to 1. We made a mark, we etched our names in the basketball scrolls of Goa. And the rest is history. To being finalists in 2 tournaments and semi finalists in practically every tournament till date.
Of course, we've had our fair shares of downs too, but we've learned to pick ourselves up and our teammates too. We are a family, and if one falls the entire team falls too. We work as a team!
Our motto 'Go Hard or Go Home' is simple and straight forward. Win or lose, Give it your 110%. Or Go Home!!
With the help of senior players, parents, friends, fans and even our opponents, we have grown. This is just the first chapter in our journey and we hope to continue the success trend. Do keep the support coming! 💯 @ DON BOSCO ORATORY
