KINS Palluruthy KINS Palluruthy KINS Palluruthy was started as a youth organisation under the patronage of Monsignor Rev. Fr. Joseph Kalappurakkal, the then Vicar St.

Sebastian’s Church, Thoppumpady, in the year 1975. It has been ever since involved in social and youth welfare activities. The KINS All Kerala Cross Country Race is an event conducted by the organization since 1977.

KINS Race – Indian Navy Winners

Monsignor Joseph Kalappurakkal Memorial 35th All Kerala KINS Cross Country Race was won by the Indian Navy team. A.G. Pawar (!9 min 04 sec), Kishor M. (!9 min 9 sec), U. K. Tharakumar (19min 11sec) secured the first, second and the third places respectively in the men’s category. A. G. Pawar was awarded with Monsignor Joseph Kalappurakkal Memorial Rolling Trophy.
Gopika R. Nair (26 min 38 sec), Simi Joseph (26 min 51 sec) and Anju Joy ( 27 min 3 sec) of Pala Alphonsa College respectively secured the first, second and third places in the women’s category.
122 out of the 149 participants completed the race. The race was flagged off by Cochin Corporation Standing Committee Chairman Sri. T. K. Ashraf. Sri. I. A. Xavier, Director Deepa College distributed the prizes in the closing ceremony.
