THE STORY BEHIND THE RUN:
Four years ago, we lost our daughter Ojal. She was eight years old. Brain tumor.
I run so no other family has to feel this loss. I run because her fight deserved more research, more awareness, more hope.
Every real kilometer I run moves the pin forward on the world map. Right now, my virtual location is 42 km past Lahore, Pakistan – approaching the historic town of Sheikhupura, getting closer to Islamabad every day.
🏥 PEDIATRIC CANCER CENTERS IN LAHORE REGION (VIRTUAL LOCATION):
As I continue through Punjab, Pakistan on this virtual journey, I want to shine a light on the incredible institutions fighting childhood cancer:
1. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Lahore
- One of Pakistan's leading cancer hospitals, providing state-of-the-art comprehensive care
- Treats approximately 700-800 new childhood cancer cases every year
- Offers bone marrow transplant for lymphoma and solid tumors
- Provides free treatment to those who cannot afford it
2. The Children's Hospital & Institute of Child Health, Lahore
- The largest public-sector pediatric oncology center in Pakistan
- Offers specialized pediatric hematology/oncology and neurosurgery departments
- Treats children with brain tumors, leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumors
- Houses a dedicated Bone Marrow Transplant Unit
3. Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment & Research (NSICT&R), Lahore
- Pakistan's new fully public cancer hospital (915 beds)
- Will include a dedicated pediatric oncology department
- Free treatment for all cancer patients
4. Pakistan Society of Pediatric Oncology (PSPO)
- National organization transforming pediatric oncology care
