2 people can take the same supplement, the same dose, every day... and absorb very different amounts of it?!

Most people look at the ingredient, I look at the form.

Sometimes that's the difference between a supplement working the way you expect and wondering why nothing changed.

A few examples:

- Vitamin D3 raises vitamin D levels more effectively than D2.

- Methylcobalamin is an active form of B12, while cyanocobalamin has to be converted before your body can use it.

- Magnesium glycinate is generally better absorbed than magnesium oxide and is easier on digestion.

- 5-MTHF is the active form of folate and doesn't require the same conversion as folic acid.

- Vitamin K2 (MK-7) stays in the body longer than K1 and plays an important role in calcium metabolism.

- Ubiquinol is the active form of CoQ10 and may become more valuable as natural CoQ10 production declines with age.

- Curcumin extracts are much more concentrated than turmeric powder, and advanced delivery systems can dramatically improve absorption.

- Calcium citrate is generally absorbed better than calcium carbonate, especially if stomach acid is low.

2 bottles can list the same nutrient and still behave very differently in the body. That's one of the first things I look at before I ever compare milligrams.

When was the last time you looked beyond the front of the label?
