Growing up as an asthmatic child, I have never had it easy, breathing in Delhi. I know first hand, what it is to deal with ‘impaired lungs and lung capacity’- the continuous breathlessness, incessant coughing and wheezing, to name a few of the physical and emotional issues that a child has to face in the current context of our dangerous pollution problem.
To add to this, children don’t even have the cognitive abilities to really understand how to cope with these conditions. This is where we, as adults and parents, have to help our children reduce the health complications arising out of the current dangers we live in by practicing and advocating measures such as eating healthy, sleeping well and exercising.
