Veteran footballers raise concern about material used

JAMMU, June 5: A major mishap was averted after one of the high-mast light poles installed at recently inaugurated Synthetic turf at Mini Stadium, Parade Jammu collapsed in High-velocity winds.
The high-mast light pole collapsed in a recent windstorm, but fortunately no one was hurt in the incident. However, veteran footballers have raised concerns about the quality of material used in the stadium.
Former Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association’s Selection Committee Ashok Sharma expressed his deep concern over the incident. He said that even though the incident did not result in any injuries, it is still a serious incident.
He continued, expressing disappointment about the lack of attention given to the repeated concerns raised regarding the subpar quality of the work and facilities for the players. It seemed as though their voices were falling on deaf ears.
Another veteran football player voiced his worries about the incident, requesting anonymity. “This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. The previous incident involved a smaller light pole. It’s clear that poor quality materials are being used in the stadium, leading to these dangerous situations. We are deeply concerned for our children who get training here regularly.”
Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Xen -Atul Gupta said, “high-mast light pole collapsed due to windstorm and probably within a week it will be reinstalled.”
On March 13, State-of-the-Art Synthetic Football Turf at Parade Ground, Jammu was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.
