OBJECTIVE:

To discover the inner potential of Indian Tamil girls in International arena to celebrate, encourage, train and share their spirit and participation in International sports. Being a sports coach is a great dream and it isn’t an easy task. It requires not just the gift of talents of excellence in sports, but management skills displaying strength of will. Shanthi Soundarrajan is well fit

for such a cause. The gift of talents she posses is excellent that she is the first Tamil woman to conquer the Asian games. Being a woman she had faced the stigma and oppression because of the gender identity norms all these years. But she didn’t lost her strength and courage to do the service to this country and this land and her genuine wish to serve this nation by training students to win pride for our country itself revels the strength, courage, determination one requires to be a sports coach. What are the benefits of this project ?

1. It is planned that initially 15 woman students will be selected with an increment of 5 students per year. They will be provided with best training, completely free of cost of any boarding and lodging.
2. This centre gives major importance to woman students. Hence it contributes to the woman empowerment, especially targeted at rural woman.
3. This centre provides occasional training for outside students and thus contributing their development in the art of sports.
4. Apart from being a centre for training, it is a centre for research and education especially on sports. This novel educational activities could also contribute to the development of sports, and the sports as science.
5. As aimed at sports education too, this could be a boon for the Tamil Nadu, as it could enhance the sports research scenario.
6. The status of this centre will be trained in a manner that they could not just shine in the national level, but on International level too, by the training to participate in Asian games, Olympics etc. such an initiative could be much useful, because it could project the talents of Tamil women in sports sphere in an International space.
7. It also aims certainly awareness about sports to the woman of Tamil Nadu and facilitates that awareness to get the form of action by means of training, research and education activities from this academy.

Srishti Madurai launched India's first helpline for Genderq***r, LGBTQIA in October 2 2011 in Madurai. Later in June 2013 the helpline turned to offer service for 24 hours. So far we received more than 80 calls both from India and abroad in past 2 years mainly from Kovilpatti, Katturamanpatti, Kodaikanal, Krishnan Kovil, Aadalur from Tamil Nadu, Port Blair from Andaman & 3 calls from Sri Lanka(Eelam) out side India. We thank Colette O'Connor from The University of Glasgow for creating the tag "Just having someone understanding to talk to can save a life." for us. Soon next month Srishti will launch world first resource website for Gender-variant, Genderq***r in Tamil. We Thank Tinpahar a student team for their service for Srishti. We also thank Vijay Vicky a blogger who transcribed the talks of Gopi Shankar as a resource for website.
