Achieved a significant milestone in the form of an Instructor Black Belt in the art of "Luta Livre," which is a form of Brazilian grappling system that specifically deals with no gi grappling. With this, I join the family of 10 plus black belts spread throughout Asia. Added to the above AMS is also an authorised Luta Livre training center in the county now.
Basically, Luta Livre has two branches, Luta livre esportiva (grappling only) and Vale Tudo (that draws parallels with MMA).
This accreditation is in recognition of my subject expertise and 34 plus years of combat sport experience (BJJ since 2005) plus having led the Indian team as a Head Coach more than a dozen times in MMA and Muaythai put together.
This coveted award comes from the lineage of a stalwart and founder of Luta livre, Professor Hugo duare and through his student Professor Ryan Peterson, a 4th Dan Black belt in Luta livre, who is the founder president, Luta livre, Canada. .livre.canada
A special mention of gratitude to my friend Prof Dull, 4th Dan BJJ Black Belt, who has stolidly stood by me through the years as a Senior Technical Advisor (grappling) of AMS, enriching my grappling experience.
My sincere thanks to my dear friend and colleague Samuel, who recommended me to this position and made it happen. Without him, this wouldn't have come to fruition. Incidentally, he is the first black belt in the country before I.
