Hero WPGT Leg 7 -JWGC -Mysuru- Anvitha wins title in playoff

Bengaluru based Anvitha Narender and Vani Kapoor tied for the first place with a three day aggregate score of 209, and in the resultant playoff to decide the winner, Anvitha won in the 2nd hole to clinch the title in the Hero Women's Professional golf tour's Leg 7 at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar golf course on Saturday.

Vani Kapoor finished runner-up while Riya Jadon (210) secured the third place.

Badminton -Mysuru's Diya Bheemiah selected to represent India in the Asia junior championships in Japan

Mysuru's Diya Bheemiah has been selected to represent India in the Badminton Asia junior (U-19) championships to be held in Yatsuhiro, Japan from June 26-July 5.

Diya Bheemiah and Baruni Parshwal combination will take part in the girls doubles for India.

Tanvi Patri and Abhinav Garg will lead a strong Indian contingent.

The squad: Boys singles: Abhinav Garg, Dev Ruparelia, Jagsher Singh Khangurra, Dhyan Santosh.

HERO WPGT Leg 7 - Mysuru -Three players share lead after round two

Bengaluru's Anvitha Narender, Ananyaa Sood (Amateur) and overnight leader Riya Jadon shared the lead jointly after round two with a two day aggregate score of par-140 each, on the second day of the Hero Women's Professional golf tour Leg 7 at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar golf course in Mysuru on Friday.

Four golfers, Durga Nittur, Amandeep Drall, Mysuru girl Vidhatri K Urs and Anvvi Dahhiya are tied fourth with a two day aggregate score of 2-over-142.

A total of 30 players made the cut after round two.

Top scores: 1. Anvitha Narender (72+68=140), Ananyaa Sood (A) (71+69=140), Riya Jadon (67+73=140), 4. Durga Nittur (71+71=142), Amandeep Drall (70+72=142), Vidhatri K Urs (69+73=142), Anvvi Dahhiya (69+73=142).
