The Nritta Karanas- the basic units of dance movement as mentioned in the Natyasastra, were brought back into practice through the research work of Dr Padma Subrahmanyam. Revival of these movements, bridges the almost 600 year gap in dance performance history with regard to the tenets of the Natyasastra. A knowledge of these movements enhances every dance style.
Nrithyodaya, Mumbai announces its specialised course in The Nritta Karanas.
