Last Thursday, I received a call from an NGO working with children. They were looking for someone to teach Indian Long Stick (Lathi) at a 3-day camp in Gujarat starting on Sunday. Fortunately, some of my students had already trained in Lathi under me, and one of them stepped forward to take on the responsibility.
Early Saturday morning, we rode to the Bilimora–Dang region of Gujarat, near Surat, where we trained tribal children in the art of the Lathi. We stayed through Saturday and Sunday, helping set everything up and conducting the sessions. Once the camp was running smoothly, we rode back to Mumbai on Sunday evening.
It was a wonderful experience—seeing the enthusiasm of the children, sharing our knowledge, and watching one of my students step up as an instructor. As a bonus, I also got in a relaxing motorcycle ride just before the monsoon arrives.
Ride safe. Stay strong. Keep the warrior spirit alive.
