Some losses can never be put into words, because some people are simply irreplaceable.
Today, Prayer Meet held in loving memory of my beloved father, Padma Shri Dr. D. Y. Patil (DADA), at D. Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai. Standing before your portrait, surrounded by flowers, prayers, family and the many people whose lives you touched, my heart was filled with both immense pride and an emptiness that words cannot express.
Every prayer, every flower and every memory brought back the beautiful memories of the man who was not only a visionary and philanthropist, but my father, my mentor, my strength and my greatest inspiration.
As I offered my prayers today, I realised that although I can no longer hold your hand or hear your voice, your teachings, your values and your love will remain with me for the rest of my life.
Your legacy will live on through the institutions you built, the generations you inspired, and, most importantly, through the countless lives you touched with your compassion and selfless service.
Dada, I will forever carry your love, your values and your legacy in my heart. Being your daughter is one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I will always strive to make you proud.
You may no longer be by my side, but you will forever be a part of me.
