Training can't stop just because the ship left the dock or lost signal.

That's the whole idea behind continuous learning, and it's exactly what TrACE was built for.

Crew training is changing.

For decades, the model was simple: Train once. Test once. Certify. Repeat at renewal.

That worked when ships, technology, and regulations evolved at a slower pace.

But maritime operations have changed, and crew training must change with them.

Across the industry, regulators, maritime organisations, and shipowners are increasingly moving in the same direction: training needs to be continuous, digital, competency-driven, and measurable, not just a one-time compliance event.

Recent regulatory strategies and industry studies reinforce this shift. Multiple national shipping authorities and industry organisations are moving towards learning models that build and demonstrate competency throughout a seafarer’s career.

The shift is already underway.
