Dr. Chaitali Das — an internationally acclaimed Jute Revivalist, Social Reformer, Social Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Guinness World Record holder.
A passionate advocate for sustainability, inclusion, and second chances, Dr. Das has dedicated her journey to empowering vulnerable communities and transforming lives through dignity, skill development, and rehabilitation.
Her pioneering initiative, Jute “Story Beyond Bars,” brought together sustainability and social reform by reviving jute-based livelihoods while empowering prison inmates. The initiative evolved into Route2Jute Pvt. Ltd., incubated by IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, with its work earning national and international recognition.
A former AFT Mrs. International 2019, Dr. Das is also a global speaker and changemaker who has represented India across prestigious international platforms and delegations.
Her documentary “Jute Story Beyond Bars” has received 4 national and 8 international awards, while her coffee-table book “PAAT-RANI – The Queen of Jute” captures her vision, resilience, and mission.
With her work impacting thousands of inmates and rural women, Dr. Das continues to champion a powerful message — sustainability is not just about saving the planet; it is also about giving people a second chance.
