Athletes become multiple Olympic champions through a combination of talent, relentless training, mental toughness, and strategic planning. Michael Phelps, with 23 gold medals, exemplifies this dedication. His rigorous training regimen included swimming several miles daily, combined with weightlifting and stretching exercises. His mental preparation was equally intense, involving visualization techniques and strategies to handle competition pressure. Another example is Usain Bolt, who dominated sprinting over three Olympics. His success stemmed from his exceptional physical attributes, disciplined training, and the guidance of his coach, Glen Mills, who fine-tuned his technique and race strategy. Consistency in training, recovery, and nutrition also plays a crucial role. These athletes maintain peak physical condition and adapt to evolving competition standards, ensuring they remain at the top of their sport across multiple Olympic cycles. This combination of physical preparation, mental resilience, and strategic adaptation is key to their sustained success. In India I would like to see a Manu Bhakar win medals in 2028, PV Sindhu did it twice, Leander Paes was unable to do so, nor were our wrestlers, boxers. This dedication to want, the hunger to strive for it after 4 years is what’s the important force that an athlete must have. A striking example is Katy Ledecky of USA who has won the 800 meters swimming gold medal at 4 Olympics sustaining her winning streak over 16 years.
