The World Cup starts for me today 🇵🇹
And somehow, all I can think about is that little kid who sat in front of the TV 20 years ago and watched you play in a 2006 World Cup for the very first time.
I didn’t know it then, but I was about to spend the next two decades cheering for you.
I’ve celebrated every goal like it was my own. I’ve stayed up through the nights, argued with strangers, defended you when the world doubted you, cried after heartbreaks, and smiled through moments I’ll never forget.
You weren’t just my favourite player. You became a part of my life.
Twenty years later, that feeling hasn’t changed.
So as another World Cup begins, I find myself believing again. The same hope. The same excitement. The same faith that I’ve carried into every tournament with you.
Maybe this is the one. Maybe this is the moment.
And if not, I’d still choose this journey with you all over again.
