CRAVING FOR SUGAR or something sweet, is a need for Energy. Your body is asking for much needed glucose as energy to carry on its function. Replenish this craving with Fruits or Dry Fruits like dates, cranberries, raisins, apricots or figs. Even fennel seeds with a little bit of jaggery can help or a small piece of dark chocolate. These options have largely helped me in the past. However keep the quantity of these healthier options also limited, keeping your caloric goals well in mind.

Choose the above instead of cakes, biscuits, sweets, chocolates or soft drinks. And even if you were to choose these occasionally, ask yourself if it is something you really like and really want ? or do you just want it because it’s available ( like lying around in the refrigerator). Mindfully eating small portions and truly enjoying it without any guilt versus mindlessly gulping large amounts followed by large amounts of guilt are two different things. Just pause to know where you’re coming from :) and you will almost always know it !

How do I stay disciplined? ⁣ ⁣
As you’ve probably heard before, motivation comes and goes. Motivation is just an emotion that you feel in a moment, like happy, excited, sad. It comes in bursts and when it’s there, you feel great like you can take on the world. Then it’s gone and you’re not sure why you’re doing it or if you’re even capable of it. ⁣

That’s when discipline kicks in. ⁣ ⁣
To me, discipline is simply keeping my word to myself. If I tell myself that I will do something, I keep my word. ⁣

If you made a promise to your friend that you would help them with something, then bailed on them last minute, how would they feel? They would probably feel like you didn’t care about them or didn’t respect them. So why would you do it to yourself? Think about that ⁣

Not all pounds are created equal. In fact, your total body weight isn’t a clear indicator of how you look or what health risks you may face.

Two different people who weigh the same amount can look very different when one has a high percentage of fat and the other has a high percentage of muscle.

An extra 20 pounds of fat may give you a softer, less toned appearance. But an extra 20 pounds of muscle will look firm and sculpted.

Muscle also serves a different function than fat. Fat helps insulate the body and trap in body heat. Muscle boosts your metabolism.

This means the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn when you’re at rest.

I often get asked that if we don’t have weights then how does one workout?

Well here are some easy exercises that can be done without weights and can totally give you a complete full body workout !

You can do them in sets and reps, or like a circuit or tabata.

- Squats
- Lunges
- Push Ups
- Planks
- Sit ups
- Burpees
