Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana played host for the very first time to TTFSL QL (32 players) & SL (32 players) on Sunday 10th May 2026. With only 2 TT Tables in an AC environment, SL scheduling went off by almost 45 mins – 1 hour primarily because of tremendous long battles in QL.

Qualifier League

As new players join TTFSL, diamond players emerge, playing for the very first time in TTFSL, two outstanding left handed players emerged Jay B and Mohil T. The left handed Jay B, reportedly not a regular player in TT was pivoting and hit outstanding winner after winners with ferocious power. While the 13 year old Mohil T struggled initially but was hitting topspin smoothly, perfect in counters.

Jay B eventually succumbed to Thane Veteran Prashant P, the latter using superior services to outfox the newcomer. The SF saw BEST player Nilesh J square of against Prashant P, while Mohil T took on experienced LP twiddler Pratyush. In the first SF Nilesh led 2-0 till Prashant fought back to make it 2-2, however the decider Prashant made tremendous errors unable to capitalize on 3rd ball attack using his superior services. The second SF Pratyush tried his best to keep Mohil down but found the 13 year left hander putting extreme rotation on the ball and hitting wide angles to Pratyush FH.

The final came down to a typical youth vs veteran, and once again Mohil prevailed 3-1 with wide angles and making the Veteran Nilesh move left to right, right to left putting him out of play.

Winner : Mohil T
Rup : Nilesh J
Prize Money disbursed : INR 6400/-

Super League

An absolute banger of a SL, the group stage Harsh G going toe to toe with Adriel D, the second game going to 20-18 and third going to 17-15 with the Colaba star prevailing finally. Former SL Winner Yuvraj K was in fine nick but lost to Kshtij Sankhe in the group stage unable to retain Ksh*tij service. Superb play by Hanoz P but unfortunately Harinee S and Kavish G both overcame the chopper in close contests.

TTFSL chief made it to the QF, knocking of Anti Spin specialist Jaywant M in R16, but lost to home academy Kavish G, the latter hitting perfect FH topspins to overcome the TTFSL Chief. In the first SF Kavish was leading 2-1 against the mathematician Ksh*tij S and had 3 match points but the former start overhitting and lost the crucial game 4. With the momentum having shifted Ksh*tij closed out the decider 3-2 that went to the wire once again.

Kunwar J demolished Harsh G using superior services but once again lost in the QF stage to Yuvraj K 1-3 in a battle of speed and spin, the youngster moving superbly laterally to keep the ball back on the TT table and Kunwar J making rare service errors. Yuvraj K then went on to literally demolish left hander Yatharth K 3-1 who earlier beat Leftie LP specialist Harinee S 3-1, the latter making mistakes in lifting backspin half long balls.

In the final Ksh*tij appeared exhausted after playing a 5 setter SF, making unforced errors in FH topspin with much slower leg speed. With Yuvraj K having lost to him in the group stage, the kid adapted and received Ksh*tij services much better and blocked and attacked superbly to win 3-0.

Winner : Yuvraj K
Rup : Ksh*tij S

Prize Money disbursed : INR 6400/-

We wish Aakash the best of luck in restarting his venture, and more importantly to him good Health & Wellbeing being the theme of World Table Tennis Day 2026.

At his grand opening on Sunday 3rd May 2026 joined by TT friends....

Day 2 & 3 of WTTD 2026 kicked off on Wed-Thur 22-23rd April 2026 at DS Shiv Sanstha School Sion W with all matches including group stage being BEST OF 5. The heat and humidity in Mumbai was a major factor even though players were given Coconut Water sponsored by our Hydration Partner .For the first time ever Special Adults category was also conducted

U15 (15 entries)

Superb performance by Harinee S surprisingly taking out experienced Aarav K in the SF in straight games. The second SF was a banger with Kaira M down 2-0 against Anshuman D, however the girl showed s***k to fight back and recover to make it 2-2. Anshuman D however persisted with defence keeping her pinned short of her FH to force errors and take the SF 3-2. The Final another battle of 2 left handers, was a total anticlimax with Harinee S BH punching and using super topspin finishes on Anshuman’s FH side.

Winner : Harinee S

Rup : Anshuman D

Prize Money dispensed : Rs 3000/-

Open Mens/Womens Doubles (11 pairs )

Shock upset by Shane/Kunwar against Harshil/Rajaram in the Qtrs winning 3-1, the JPOTTA boys unable to understand the changes in speed. Superb pairing by Virar boys Pratyush/Hardik who even beat the JPOTTA Pair of Nandini/Vedant in the group Stage. In the SF they fought hard but lost against the experienced pair of Shane/Kunwar who just dominated the last deciding game with winners. The pair of Anoushka/Dhruv dominated the group stages to meet Arnav/Ayush in the 2nd SF, however the Goregaon boys were too perfect in their opening and their topspins winning 3-1 against Anoushka/Dhruv.

The final was a rematch of the group stage. Already Arnav/Ayush had beaten the pair of Shane/Kunwar 3-0 in the group stage, though in the final it was much closer but the first sons of TTFSL dominated the Doubles to win 3-1.

Winner : Ayush S/Arnav K

Rup : Shane S/Kunwar J

Prize Money dispensed : Rs 4400/-

Open Mens /Womens Singles (37 entries)

Superb match between Prajwal R & Dhruv W with both locked in at 2-2 and 10-10 but a superb rally at the close by Dhruv W ensured the win. In the 1st SF, topspin machine Kunwar J outclassed Rajaram W playing a high spin rotation game, while the 2nd SF JPOTTA girl Nandini M had another outstanding match with Dhruv W narrowly losing 2-3. In the 3rd SF Harshil B managed finally to beat 3-0 Anoushka P who has beaten him 4 times before using a combination of long and fast away services and flat hits down the line to her BH.

The Finals were set with Dhruv W playing another classic 5 setter with Kunwar J. Kunwar J adding countertopspin to close the match 3-2. The second final a battle of both lefthanders Harshil B outgunned topspin machine Kunwar, while Kunwar used a looping game, Harshil used a targeted blocking game to win 3-1. The 3rd final Dhruv forced errors from Harshil to take the win 3-2. We must appreciate the stamina of Dhruv W, 5 setter in QF with Prajwal, 5 Setter in SF with Nandini, and twice 5 Setters in the Final with Harshil B & Kunwar J.

With each player now having One win Each in the Final, Harshil B had the highest game difference with +1, while the second place is decided on a H2H basis and therefore Kunwar J got the runner up position as he had beaten Dhruv.

Two players were outstanding Prajwal R and Nandini M and we hope to see them battle in action in TITANIUM 7 very soon.

Winner : Harshil B

Rup : Kunwar J

Prize Money dispensed : Rs 7400/-

Mens 40+/50+ combined (21 entries)

Adriel got a walkover in the first SF from an unavailable Ketan G who had taken out TT chief Shane S in the QF 3-1.

Super defence, cutting and chopping by Gajanan P completely foxed 3-0 Hanoz P in the second SF. The final was not however played as Adriel D did not make it for the final as per schedule, with a decent leeway of over 1 hour given to Adriel D for late traffic, TTFSL as organizer decided to stick to rules and eventually walked over the match.

Winner : Gajanan P

Rup : Adriel D

Prize Money dispensed : Rs 4200/-

Special Children U19 (5 entries)

With notable absence of Dilkhush Special School students, the event was easily won by Ankit C and the runner up Vignesh both from Sulabha Special School. Vignesh was hitting very good topspins but Ankits blocking was too good.

Winner : Ankit C

Rup : Vignesh G

Special Adults (12 entries)

With notable absence of Dilkhush Special School students, the event was easily won by Ronak, most of the other opponents from Snehalaya Thane and Sulabha Special School, Vidyavihar were playing a TT Tournament for the first time ever in their lives. Both Snehalya Thane and Sulabha Special School are TTFSL indicatives’ under the TT4All programme. Swami B particularly was outstanding for his ball control, considering that he has learnt TT in just 4 months that too twice a week.

Winner : Ronak S

Rup : Swami B
