Annandita is 16 years and walked into class at 13 ā curious, distracted, forgetful⦠and completely herself. Instructions would float past her, corrections wouldnāt always land, and for the first two months, I was simply trying to understand her world.
And then something shifted ā in me. I stopped correcting every little thing. I let her beā¦
And in that space of ease, she began to grow⦠at her own pace.
That was my lesson.
Each person is different. Each learning curve is different. Not everyone fits into a neat, square box and as teachers, thatās something we must constantly remember. Yoga isnāt about forcing alignment, itās about allowing unfoldingā¦
Itās about patience, compassion, and the ability to let go.
And sometimes, itās the students who remind us of these lessons the most š„¹
Today, she stands as one of my oldest practitioners. Still playful, still a little forgetful, and still someone I occasionally scold š but deeply, deeply cherished.
Children teach us far more than theyāll ever know.
