The stage was all set for a thrilling penalty shootout after the scoreline was levelled at 2-2 in regulated 90 minutes and with only 6 minutes of extra time left until the game was marred by poor officiating and controversial decision. Firstly it was a clear offside which the assistant referee decided to ignore (offside from every angle) and then our GK was fouled by their attacker leading to the controversial goal. Another horrendous decision from the ref, how can he missed that one?? Even with the slightest of contact from the attacking player in the box, it's always the advantage of the GK in a 50/50 situation. There's no two ways about it.
Play was stopped for an hour after the controversial decision but we decided to resume in the best interest of everyone after many requests from all quarters. But the way the match ruined by the ref and his assistant is a heartbreak that would be carried in the minds of EUFC fans for life.
We will come back stronger. Thank you all for the love, support and prayers 🙏
