The looong wait is over!

TAPMI PREMIER LEAGUE is upon us finally and today we kick off with the mega auctions with anxiety and excitement in equal measure to see how the event unfolds!

8 teams with 8 enthusiastic team owner wait for the hammer to go down against the names of 150+ players.
It's gonna be fun, there will be a din. It's time to unveil the names of the 8 teams that'll go head to head for the coveted TAPMI Premier League trophy! 🏆

# Strike2022 Event #2 - Table Tennis 🏓

To nobody's surprise, a record number of participants turned out to compete across the TT table with ping pings flying like tracer bullets from one end to another!

5 separate categories were made to extract maximum thrill and enjoyment out of the tournament. Here's how the podium looked!

We, at Sportscom, are delighted to pull the curtains over our dual sport event, STRIKE 2022, that comprised of Table Tennis and Chess tournaments.
It would be an understatement to call this event a grand success as evident by the overwhelming response and crowd that Strike 2022 generated.

We would like to honour the winners and runner ups starting from the Chess event.

After an engrossing couple of days over 64 squares of the board, we finally found out the two brightest minds at TAPMI.

'I am 41 years old. I have played over 1,500 matches in 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and now I must recognise when it is time to end my competitive career.”

Roger Federer, one of the greatest to grace the sport and a 20-time Grand Slam winner has announced his retirement from the sport at 41. For the past 3 years, injuries have slowed down his appearance in tennis, and the last time he played in a tournament was in 2021.

Federer has confirmed that the upcoming edition of the Lavis Cup will be his last ATP tournament. He has played over 1500 matches in 24 years and became the oldest No.1 at 36 in 2018.

A healthy society can be created via sports, and when we have a healthy society, we will undoubtedly have a healthy state or a healthy nation. Sports bring people together.

The sportsmen are not only well-known, but they also have a lot to teach us about life. Sports has now become a significant aspect of our society. We can perform at our peak and test our limitations when we play sports.

The Sports Committee is delighted to announce that we have been included in the prestigious TAPMI Achievers’ Club for the academic year 21-22. The inclusion is a true testament to the efforts put in by the whole committee against the unprecedented challenges that we have faced in the wake of the 3rd wave and switching to hybrid mode. 

We would like to express our gratitude to our Director, Professor Madhu Veeraraghavan, Student-Affairs Chairperson, Professor Amol Dhaigude, Student-Affairs Co-Chairperson, Professor Punam Prasad, the Sports Committee team and other committees for their contributions and assistance in helping us reach this incredible milestone.

The committee handover process was completed on April 24th. This began a new chapter for the Sports Committee as the club baton was transferred to the incoming senior team. We would like to congratulate the senior team on their wonderful journey and wish them the best in their future endeavors. The committee will continue to work hard and selflessly for the students, acting as a watchdog over all campus sporting activities.
